PROJECT ANNOTATION:

The project deals with research on the impacts/ benefits of the flagship (large) projects on urban and regional development. Special attention is given to the projects of the European capitals of culture. Examines their impacts on the tourism and retail, employment, public and private investment, public expenditure, etc. Brings the comparison of Pilsen (the European capital of culture 2015) with other central cities such as Graz (2003), Pécs (2009), Linz (2010) or Košice (2013). Identifies also the problems associated with the planning, implementation and evaluation of these projects.
