PROJECT ANNOTATION:

This academic conference builds upon a series of successful conferences organized in 2011, 2014, 2015 and 2017. This year’s conference will take place November 7th and 8th, 2019 in the Hotel Horizont in Železná Ruda. One of the main goals of the conference has been and still is how to contribute to development of cross-border cooperation of academic staff, support their publication activities and at the same time monitor current requirements of practice. For the third time, the conference will also be open to students of post-bachelor’s and doctoral study programs from both sides of the border. Primarily for students and young academic employees, the conference provides an opportunity to gain experience and establish contacts in the field on an international level, which is highly desirable in today’s age of strong international research support. Past years of the conference that were devoted to business economics in cross-border comparison were very positively evaluated by the participants during conference evaluation on both sides of the border and each anthology registered into the Thomson Reuters database was also scientifically evaluated each year. We would like to continue on in this tradition in this year as well. The best of the papers will be recommended for peer-reviewed journals (e.g. the “Trendy v podnikání’ journal). Core topics of the papers will focus on subjects such as trade, travel industry, intercultural environments in the area of human resources, controlling, accounting, financial management, marketing, management, economics and other areas of business practice including the non-profit sector. Representatives of several universities and academic institutions from abroad will take part in this year’s conference. We are also expanding the number of invited members to include universities and higher education institutions from Pardubice, Liberec, Jihlava, Prague, České Budějovice and others. The conference is in agreement with the Long-term Plan of the University of West Bohemia and its Faculty of Economics (heightening quality of doctoral study programs, expanding cooperation with practice, support and internationalization, and support of R&D activities also in an international context).
